Point Grey Men Win National Championships
Vancouver-The Point Grey Track senior men claimed their first ever national team title on Saturday at the Canadian Cross Country Championships at Jericho Beach Park.
Lucas Bruchet ran an outstanding race, in a star studded field that included Olympians Cam Levins and Mo Ahmed, to place fifth overall and earn himself a spot on the Canadian Senior National team that will travel to the IAAF World Cross Country Championships this March. Bruchet’s time of 30:06 is a new 10-kilometre personal best.
Kevin Friesen was the second Point Grey runner across the line in 22nd spot in a time of 31:27. Ryan Huff, who ran a personal best of 31:30, closely followed him in 24th place.
Ryan Brockerville rounded out the Point Grey scoring in 26th place in a time of 31:37.
Sam Pawluk came in 28th spot in 31:46, while Tim Huebsch was 31st in 31:51. Point Grey’s seventh runner was Dylan Gant, who came 37th in a time of 32:19, respectively. Theo Hunt was the 48th senior man to complete the course in a time of 33:07.
