Vancouver, BC - The team is coming off its first race of the season in Victoria, BC at the Harriers Pioneer 8km, which also served as the BC 8km Championships. Point Grey placed runners second through fifth thanks to performances from Watson, Byles, Friesen and NACAC XC qualifer Hunt.

Wilkie was third while Jen Moroz was 11th overall on the women's side.

Phoenix Rock n Roll Half-Marathon

Rob Watson travels to Phoenix this weekend to race the Rock n Roll Half-Marathon on Saturday, hoping to go sub-65minutes as an early season test of fitness. The BC Senior Road Runner of the Year holds a PB of 63:29 from last years NYC Half-Marathon.

UW Indoor Preview

Several UBC athletes will join Watson south of the border this weekend but at the Dempsey Indoor Centre in Seattle. Luc Bruchet eyes the school record of 7:59.29 set by Jeff Schiebler back in '96 at the CIS Indoor Championships. He'll be paced by fellow Point Grey teammate Nigel Hole through the 1,500m in the range of 3:58-3:59. Catherine Farish & Kirsten Lee will be in the 800m and mile, respectively, while Devin Rajala also competes in the 800m.
