From One Rio to Another

Sandi Morris is about to leave one Rio for another.

Affection for her favorite rescue cat notwithstanding, Morris is looking forward to two-plus weeks in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the site of this year’s Olympic Games.

Rio the feline will have to wait a while to see Sandi again.

“When I was naming him four years ago, I didn’t really realize how good of a shot I would have at going to Rio,” Morris said. “But the Olympics are something athletes always think about and want to achieve, so I was like ‘Rio’ – yeah, that’s a good name for my cat. Now it’s crazy that I’m actually going to be there.”
